I'm working with an inside deals group who are having accomplishment with a cold pitching opening that beforehand I had prescribed against utilizing. Subsequent to tuning in to their recorded calls, however, I've been amazed by how compelling it is!

While trying different things with varieties of this prospecting approach, I've created 5 new cold pitching openings and recorded them beneath. My new proposal is that you attempt these for yourself to perceive how they work for you:

Amazement cold pitching opening #1: "Did I bump into you at an inopportune moment?" I know, appears to be unreasonable to give your prospect an exit plan at the absolute starting point, and that is the reason I've suggested against it for such a long time. Be that as it may... it's been functioning admirably, and prospects are really halting and allowing the reps to continue talking. Attempt it for yourself and let me know how it functions for you...

Deals prospecting opening #2: "Is this an alright time to speak?" Once more, my impulse (and experience) has instructed me this is certifiably not a decent method to open your call, in any case, I believe it's been working since it gives the prospect control of the call at first, and this appears to urge them to give the authorization to proceed. Once more, attempt it and let me know...

Cold pitch opening #3: "Didn't think I'd get you to face to face, would you be able to save only two or three minutes at the present time?" Once more, requesting consent is by all accounts working for the group I'm counseling with, and this variety puts in somewhat of a conditioning proclamation.

Deals prospecting opening #4: "Sorry to learn you, have I gotten you at an alright time?" Minor departure from the topic here-by and by, we consolidate a conditioning proclamation with requesting consent...

New cold pitching opening #5: "Gracious, I'm so happy I contacted you. Would you be able to take one minute to talk with me at this moment?" As should be obvious, this, as well, is another opening, proceeding with the subject of requesting authorization.

Similarly, as with these cold pitching or deals prospecting openings, you're giving introductory control to your prospect in the expectations that they will give you consent to have a short discussion. Also, as I stated, this is by all accounts functioning admirably.

Pick one of the openings above, tweak it so it accommodates your style, and let me know how it functions for you. By giving each other criticism (particularly sharing on LinedIn), we'll all be helping each other show signs of improvement at prospecting via telephone!
